The service
DiscordDevTools is a free service: a toolbox for Discord developers, with the Welcome Image Generator as its first tool. You do not need an account. By using the website, a tool or its API you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use it.
I run it as a hobby project in my own time. See the imprint for who I am, and the privacy policy for what happens to your data.
Fair use and rate limits
The service is free for everyone only as long as nobody abuses it. The API limits how many requests each connection can make, and tells you the limits in the response headers. If you hit a limit you get a 429 answer with a Retry-After header, and you should wait that long.
Please do not:
- send requests to overload, scan or attack the service,
- try to get around the rate limits,
- try to make the generator fetch internal or private addresses.
I may block connections that do, without notice.
What you may make
You are responsible for the cards you make and for the text and images you put into a link. Do not use the service to make images that are:
- unlawful,
- hateful, or meant to harass, threaten or impersonate people,
- sexual content involving minors, or otherwise illegal to show,
- an infringement of someone else's rights, such as images you have no right to use.
I may block links or connections that break these rules.
No warranty
The service is provided as it is. I try to keep it running and the cards looking right, but I give no guarantee and no service level. It can be slow, change, or be switched off, with or without notice. Do not build something on it that would hurt if it were gone. If you need a guarantee, render the images yourself.
Liability
I am liable for damage only to the extent the law requires. Where the law allows it, I exclude liability for any damage that comes from using the service or from it being unavailable. This does not limit liability that cannot be excluded by law, such as liability for intent or gross negligence.
Swiss law
Swiss law applies to these terms, without its conflict-of-law rules. Mandatory consumer protection rules of the country where you live are not affected.
Changes to these terms
I may change these terms when the service changes. The date at the top shows the latest version. If you keep using the service after a change, you accept the new terms. Questions? Ask on the Discord server .
